I find this mind boggling with her previous form, what does anybody else think?

She hopes her daughter will be Like A Virgin until she is 18, but she may push her over the Borderline.

She should remember that daughters are very precious as is the trust and respect that parents and children need to give & earn.

banning is certainly too harsh

but in essence a sensible idea so she can do well at school etc etc
BUT this concept (of working and not going over to the 'movers and shakers' side) has to come from the daughter rather than preached by the parent. Besides - when you're 17 you're bound not to listen, it is a rule with no way of implementing it.

and old madge doesn't give a great example to follow.

if she doesn't want a boyfriend before then though
as can often be the case
then her mum needn't fret

I dread to think what will the daughters idea of a boyfriend will be. "No Ma it was just a quickie against the wall? No boyfriend there! "
Well that's O.K. Quoth concerned Mother.
What will Madge say if she is gay? Sky's the limit there.
Anyway, what child wants their Mother to discuss their (future) Sex life in public?

Hopefully she will be able to 'Cherish and justify her love' but mum will be there to rescue me.

It's all well and good Madge putting her foot down and dictating the pace to a 10 year old, but if 'Lola' turns out to be anywhere near as strong willed and stubborn as her mommy - then I'm afraid Mrs Rich is going to be in for a helluva shock when the kid hits puberty.

You're right there Nat, it has to be down to a loving, trusting & respecting relationship on both sides, then you can be open with each other and in my experience, girls are much easier teenagers than boys.

I didn't realise the child was only 10 years old. Madge has been around for so long. Anyway the child can be legally married in Scotland at 16. As she might if she is put down lots.
