Steve's just said Richard's sitting in for him next week...

Didn't catch whether it was the whole week or just Monday.

I'm sure someone else will know!

Fantastic-hopefully its for the week and not just a day.

Look forward to someone confirming the position for sure.

NB-at least the nonstop oldies will run on time with Richard at the helm.

SW's back on Tuesday. So it will only be Monday. Still, it's time to get the mp3 radio up and running for Monday.

It's not that I dislike Steve - I prefer Richard's broadcasting style. Smile

Me too. Much less patronising and much more informative. He's a nice lad is Richie.

Wright repeats the news endlessly, Allinson repeats time checks endlessly.

Wright has real sycophantic "friends" around him, Allinson has his imaginery friend [ why else does he talk in the 3rd person plural all the time?]

You pays your money, you make your choice.

Its only a warm up act for the main attraction anyway Wink

Allinson is not the only former Capital star to find himself in the wilds of Oxfordshire

http://www.radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.1700

And he used to be a TV star as well...

Radio 1 in the early 90's. They had to get Chris Evans in to turn things around

[actually I hated Evans radio shows in those days, by DFYTB was great]

They both did. Allinson on VH1. It dosn't look like a windup. I think Penk would Of been good on national radio, but national radio has changed over the years, and he lost out to become a star on R1 in the late 80's yearly 90's.. The TV dried up, but his radio career hasn't. I think he lives in London and used to present his Key 103 show from the emap studios in London, the blinds were shut in one picture as we would of seen Oxford street. Laughing So I reckon he will present his his fox breakfast show from Capital studios, as travelling to Oxford will be a a little slog for him?

Indeed Mark. They have a lot in common: both 80's throwbacks and now fighting it out for listeners in Oxford.

gfloyd-Wrong.

Richard Allinson has just one show a week on BBC Radio Oxford each Saturday between 12-2pm called Allinsons Albums-he will not be fighting it out for listeners with Penk-as already stated earlier in the thread Penk is going to be on a weekday morrning-their paths will not cross.

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. We all know that the powers that run the R2 website are sometimes slow to update things on there. Let's see who Jezza says comes after him tomorrow.

Someone better call Pete Mitchell. He might read the wrong thing out of the Radio Times as part of the centre piece of his broadcast tomorrow morning.

As I said at the start, Steve Wright said Richard was sitting in for him on Monday, I'm sure he knows.....

Then again, it is Steve Wright!

Richard Allinson sits in for Steve on Monday, and he's joined by TV presenter and actor Matthew Kelly, and comedian and Comic Relief spokesman Lenny Henry. Plus there's returning quiz Rhyme or Reason, The Oldies, The Astrology with Russell Grant, and loads more!
