Seems the BBC are to advertise themselves on three new Youtube channels, which in turn will carry adverts. We in the UK will not be able to access these. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I wonder how much it's cost the BBC to do this? I reckon they will see if it will be a good way in the future to see if the BBC will need to advertise?
It be online, on digital, freeview, satellite 88291fm and on you tube from now on |

It'll probably be funded by BBC America, which is a separate entity and part of BBC Worldwide.

What on earth does that mean? The BBC does advertise its output all over the place - in magazines, newspapers, on billboards, on tube train stations, etc., - so how is this any different? By positioning on YouTube the corp is acknowledging that this is one way to attract the attention of a particular target group, and one is that is viewing TV less and engaging in social networking portals more. Seems like a very sensible idea to me.
