British supermodel Naomi Campbell has been sentenced to five days community service by a court in New York.
Campbell has been ordered to clean floors in a municipal warehouse as punishment for throwing a mobile phone at her housekeeper.
She pleaded guilty to reckless assault in a plea bargain with prosecutors at Manhattan Criminal Court last month.
As well as community service, the 36-year-old was also ordered to attend an anger management course.
Naomi Campbell may be one of the most famous women in the world but she is about to get a taste of how the other half live, working as a cleaner.
It has emerged her punishment will involve cleaning the floors of a sanitation building, starting later this month.
Miss Campbell has apologised for assaulting her maid - the fourth such complaint against her - and agreed to take anger management classes.
Her spokesman said she was ready to report and complete her community service no matter what or where it was.

The forum admins can use a feature called "Word Censor" which enables them to enter a set of naughty words which are then substituted for "nice" ones when the forum post displays.
It's all a bit crap really, or is that c-rap...... or c.arp....... or c.rap?
Or c.r.a.p or c-arp or c-r-a-p or.............. well you get the drift. Sheizen, maybe?

Reminds me of the time I translated a menu from Spanish into English, using a translation software I had downloaded for free. The original recipe said, "sprinkle with cheese and then grill". It translated as "sprinkle with cheese and then interrogate fiercely".
Which is exactly what I did. I got no sense out of it though.  [/quote] |

Hi Ella, we are on the northern Costa Blanca, town called Javea which reputedly boasts the "healthiest climate in the world". It's about 90 kilometres north of Alicante and about 120 south of Valencia. Lots of mountains, sea and sunshine, but the beer's "carp". The wine however, is a different matter!
Went to Torrevieja once, but it seemed quite flat and lots of construction. Lovely sea front though.

We've been up to Javea quite a lot, actually. I have relatives (ex-pat Brits, what a surprise!) who have a place there up on the hill with Monte Gordo behind them. We've stayed at Moraira a couple of times, and we know the road over the mountain and down to Denia. Did it once in a raging thunderstorm - quite spectacular.

Too many ex-pat Brits all trying to force English customs on the Spanish actually! It's nice as you move further south towards Murcia and Cartagena.
Anyhow, I'm envious! I'd like to be there, too.

PS: Yes, the beer (bog-standard Cerveza) isn't as good as English beer - that's what Mr. S misses! "Cruzcampo = cat's pee", he says!

You're not using the right techniques... I know a man who can get hold of a 24 volt battery with some bare-ended cables attached if your interested.... Don't let the cheese get away with it!

I heard the guy in charge of the department she's working in say they would try and make things as "comfortable as possible" for her.
WHY????
She's there as punishment for yet another unprovoked attack on a member of her staff.
I'd work the stuck-up little madam 'til her hands bled.... Welcome to the real world Naomi!
