So, I missed the show today, being at work and all - was it a good one today? what was the three of the best? Did the contestants get any of the song lyric questions right? |

Didn't realise you could "Listen Again" to RA on Radio Oxford.... something else to try out shortly, then.

"Three of the Best" from Genesis's "Trick of the Tail" album.
Nearly made me dig out my copies of "Nursery Chryme", "Foxtrot" and "Selling England By The Pound".... seems his Radio Oxford show is pretty much the same format as on BFBS (and the old Saturday show). But hey, why change a winning formula?

Never mind, mark - I'm sure he appreciates the thought.
Cherskiy - the listen again is on the Oxfor page, just go to Listen live / Listen again and scroll down for Richard.
Sometimes they play 2 weeks previously so it's not correctly updated all the time.
However, I'm going to listen to it tonight also. |

Yep, found it a little while ago - that's how I knew it was "Trick of the Tail" this morning.
Cheers,

Well, I didn't get a chance to listen again to this mornins show - I was subjected to 'The Santa Clause 2' movie....actually it wasn't too bad, brought out the kid in me - the kid who wants whiskey, an x-box, new bike, whiskey, scalextrix, an ipod...did I mention the whiskey! |

Wouldn't mind a mountain bike myself, but I'm saving for a Canon EOS-1DS MK.II camera body and a new house, not necessarily in that order. Not sure which one I'll need the mortgage for....
I think I sold my Scalectrix set when I was 15 - Minis and chicanes - recreating "The Italian Job" in my front room!

Andy-THe show delivered by Richard was top draw as it always is.
Contestants still struggling with the quiz though.
Richard should be delivering his excellent Sunday morning show on BBC Radio 2 instead of Steve Wright and his dreadful SLS's show. |

Mark, thanks for that, got no help from the above!!
Yes, I agree- a Sunday show on R2 would be great, maybe in the afternoon.
I listened to the show today on BFBS and it was another great show.
Like the mix of old, new and fairly recent. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Andy-Did you listen to last Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2 (8/12/06) hosted by Richard Allinson from the Mermaid Theatre in London.
G4 were the special guests. Richard was the compare and brilliant he was too.
Richard showed as much passion for the Classical/Light music played as he does for the music he is normally associated with.
He also gave a very warm tribute to Alan Freeman at the end of the Show.
Richarde Allinson rocks. |

Mark,
I actually missed it but saw the postings and listened again - yes it was pretty good.
Helen,
If I'm right you've had a few mentions - over the past month or so I've been mentioned every week apart from the week I missed obviously!!
People have said Rich relies on texts, emails to fill his show but I don't think that's the case, he just connects with his audience and it's great to hear your name on the radio!!
Rich does indeed rock on - keep supporting him and have a blameless weekend. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Hi Andy
I have had a few on Richard's show. I've missed a few weeks for various reasons. I think Richard is a great broadcaster and enjoy his tongue in cheek banter.
I see you are from where I am originally!

Andy-Going to have to change my routine on a Saturday. I am a season ticket holder at Chelsea FC and in order to get to the matches on time I have to leave home at 1pm For home matches then I am hoping if Richard has a regular show on a Saturday afternoon then Radio Oxford will have the sense to have a listen again feature as they do for the existing Sunday morning show.
Richard Allinson rocks. |

Footie or Allinson???!!! Ah, the agony of choice!
I'm sure they will have a listen again for the show - seems like every show has a listen again.
I was thinking - miss last hour of wossy, makes a nice segue into Stuart Marconi - brilliant! _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Just over 30 minutes until Richard's second Saturday afternoon show on Radio Oxford starting at 12 o'clock midday.
I hope they can sort out a Listen Again feature as I am only able to listen to the 1st hour as I then have to leave to go to Stamford Bridge. |
