Autumn Leaves by Eva Cassidy always gets me, it's such a beautiful song.

Also I like Nimrod by Elgar which I know is not a 'song' as such but it is very moving.

Agree re Roger Whittaker's Durham Town. Was on SOTS a bit ago so it could crop up again.

Had a lump in the throat moment on Sunday evening when, having missed lunch, we dined at a local pub and, whilst we were eating, on came Eva Cassidy's version of It Doesn't Matter Any More.

'The sunshine of your smile' by Mike Berry. (I think of my late parents)
'The moment I saw you' by Nicolette Larson. (Love song to a new born child)
'Which one will it be?' by Bobby Bare ( A parent counts his blessings)

What about "Old And Wise" by the Alan Parsons Project featuring Colin Blunstone on vocals, he's got a lovely voice.
I agree with your choice of the Mike Berry song Brian, a very underrated song in my eyes.

Mike Berry's version of this was a surprise but very welcome chart entry in 1980.

But the song originates from early in the 20th century, perhaps around 1910. Does anyone recall who might have recorded it in an earlier era?
