| Following the announcement of a new weekday evening line-up today meaning Stuart Maconie wilbe on 4 nights a week,will this lead to changes to the weekend line-up and a new saturday afternoon show replacing Maconie?What sort of changes would you like to see to the weekends if there is to be an annoouncement soon?Danny Baker on saturday afternoons maybe? |

Baker has been very cagey about something recently. Tiptoeing around such phrases as 'something new in the spring' and 'embargos' and 'signing the biggest deal of his career'.
Hmm....
It's debatable whether Stu will give up Saturdays or not having been on during the week. That's where I imagine Baker would be located if he was on the way.
However, if weekend changes are afoot, why were they not announced with the weekday evening ones? Or can't we cope with all that change in one go?!

| I have been wondering if there'll be a Weekend change, but I don't see what's able to change. If Stuart's still doing his 6Music, then he'll be around for his Saturday show (even if it would be overkill) and, sadly, Russell Brand's podcast is doing massively well so he's bound to be staying. Sundays have already been jiggered about with recently. |

Andy/Mark - I'd like to see this too, but frankly I can't envisage it happening. I suspect LD would regard it as a retrograde step.

The logical replacement to Maconie would be to move Johnnie Walker to Saturday afternoons and do something good on Sunday afternoons between 5 & 7pm. Either a couple of specialist but popular music shows or bring back an Ed Stewart style request show.

That is such a good idea. A request show would be great, and Johnnie could do something a bit different on a Saturday afternoon, his Sunday programme isn't working for me.

Yes, I can agree with Ernie (See, it can happen!) about JW on Saturday afternoons . Does anyone remember when he was previously on Saturday afternoons before a series of guest presenters (Billy Bragg, Tom Robinson etc) then Janice Long & finally Richard Allinson took over Saturday afternoons. I'd love to see Ed's request show back. How about Annie Nightingale bringing back her request show?

I remember Saturday sequence too. I taped a part of a couple of programmes that dealt with '21 years of Radio 1' only it was Roger Scott presenting those ones. Part 1 dealt with 1967-1972. Part 2 was 1973-1988. It's great to have a bit of Roger on tape. Though I still remember him best from Capital Radio when his 'Three O'clock Thrill' was piped through the tannoy at the place I was working at, at the time.
