Is "Scott over on the old boards" just jealous? Is there something the more innocent of folk among us should know?
PS: Scott who?

I saw that yesterday, but I think it was a mistake as Janice Long came on at midnight as normal.

Poor old Dave seems barely capable of lasting the hour these days! The idea he, or even Lesley, would be up for doubling the show when she's actively killing off the old guard, is a little hard to believe. _________________ Who Can Take A Sunrise, Sprinkle It With Dew... |

If you have a peek over on the BBC R2 boards you'll see this comment, which I think sums things up:
"I like the way Lesley is thinking and I don't want to put her down as I enjoy her network. I say one thing is one person can't change a persons way of thinking and want to change things around. We need to wake up and live in the real world. It's nice to be able to have a live music show between the other specialist shows'!!! as they can give us an insight into the music which the listeners are interested in."
I feel sure I've seen those prophetic words somewhere before though - even if I don't have a clue what they mean!

On the other hand, didn't Les produce David Jacobs' show for a while? Maybe she's got some residual affection for the old boy.....or is trying to tire him out so he retires sooner! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |

It was her first job on the station from what I recall.

Eh? That does seem odd, the number of listeners Jacobs has would hardly justify it, I can rarely stay up for much of his current hour.
Scott's back to his old self again talking about 'Dreary Jacobs' and Dermot gets the 'shouldn't even be on Radio 2' treatment as does Titchmarsh, even Russell Brand, oh and 'cannot stand Brian Matthew and his boring radio presentation'......
Of course Scott doesn't listen to any of these shows
All that doesn't help Scott's chances of getting back on HERE
Oh, and Fantasy Schedules are back, and old John 'H' Hutchinson is battling with him like old times
Why doesn't 'H' post on here?

So R2 still has messageboards, then? Stone me, I'd totally forgotten about them! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |

I think most other people have too. They dont appear to be too busy. Even the hosts go home at 5, hence the late evening fantasy schedules & arguements are flaring up again. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |
