Maybe Cyndi should have won after all...

Quote:
Swedish singer Pandora is claiming that the UK entry Flying the flag (for you) by Scooch, is a copy of her song No regrets from 1999. She is now treatening to take legal actions.

Pandora is the stage name of the singer Anneli Magnusson who was a leading dance artist in Sweden in the 90s. She is also one of the most best-selling Swedish artists in Finland and she was also once upon a time very big in Japan . After losing popularity she entered the Swedish national final Melodifestivalen in 2004 and 2005, without much success, except among fans of the ESC.

An English fan contacted Pandora recently and told her to listen to the UK entry Flying the flag (for you) by Scooch.
Pandora was shocked.
"The chorus of the song is exactly the same as my song No regrets I had back in 1999", she says. Hopefully they will get disqualified from the competition

Pandora has contacted the music union to get help to try to get the song disqualified. They will get in touch with the EBU and see what they can do.
"I can't see how they would get away with this. The chorus is more or less the same as Pandora's song", says Per Herrey, lawyer at the music union and winner of Eurovision Song Contest 1984.

Well since Cyndi's song was a rip off of 'You raise me up' I don't think Pandora has got much of a case.

I also reckon Andrew McCrorie Shand should sue, because there's also a touch of his theme song to Teletubbies! The voiceover sounds like the voice that says 'Time for Teletubbies/Time for Tubby Bye Bye'!
