I don't agree that shows such as these should be pre-recorded.

Stuart should presenting live or if he cannot do it someone else should be covering.

Only specialist shows should be pre-recorded.

Not good enough BBC.

I agree. Especially when there are phone-in elements and phony competitions! It smacks of the recent television phone-in rip off scandal. If there's no bugger in the studio live on air, don't ask us to waste our time ringing in! Either that or as Mark says, get some other guy to fill the gap. One Daniel Baker of Blackheath for example!!

I have somewhat mixed feelings on this - on the one hand I don't think that shows should be pre-recorded and broadcast as live (by assumption). On the other hand, in the case of Stuart's Saturday afternoon show, I'd rather listen to him recorded than not at all.

The Beeb should make it clear that the show is pre-recorded if that is indeed the case.

I find myself agreeing 100% with Mark Mayhew.

I think it was SM's way of 'advertising' that he was pre-recorded today. At least that was my interpretation, given what CA was talking about during the brief period he was on.

Get over it guys!!

So they forgot to take the Clive Anderson minidisc out of the machine and put the pre recorded Stuart one in?

So what?! Let the poor bloke have the weekend to himself. He's been doing a sterling job sitting in for the Ginger One these last two weeks, and his Saturday shows are usually live anyway. At least he doesn't need two weeks off every six like Mr Evans.

I can only speak for myself, but I for one am in no way whatsoever criticising Stuart over this pre-recorded business, I would only criticise the Beeb for not making it clear that it was pre-recorded (most people assume (correctly so)) that all daytime and most evening and night-time shows are live.
