Just read that Radio 2 are organising special recording sessions to recreate Sgt Pepper using Oasis, The Killers,Razorlight,The Fratellis,Kaiser Chiefs,Travis and James Morrison. This is to mark the 40th anniversary of The Beatles classic album.
The question must be asked...Why?
Sgt Pepper is widely regarded as one of (if not the) best albums ever produced , so why the need to redo it using a pot pourri of latter day wannabees.
OK so Oasis have built a career around being Beatle wannabees but this is taking things a bit too far.
I know every third song recorded nowadays is a cover version of something but surely the line should be drawn somewhere.
Anyway ,the results will be broadcast on 2nd June, I won't be holding my breath _________________ The wheel keeps on turning...

I think this is fantastic - I am impressed it's being 'resurrected' so to speak! |

Anything that reminds people of the genius of the Beatles and the excellence of what is regarded by many to be their finest work has to be a good thing. Keep it coming!
