I haven't yet heard Roger Royle's Easter Praise, which marks his retirement from Sunday Half Hour, though I did hear his Pause for Thought on Good Friday and most of his discussion with Aled Jones on Easter Day. Here's hoping I can get time to Listen Again. Did anyone hear this--if so, what did you think?

Ian.

I don't normally listen but knowing it was Roger's last program I did tune this week.
It was very good as you might expect (was on for an hour this time)

I didn't know he was on with Aled, will try and find it on listen again.

Good luck to Father D'arcy who is taking over, I'm sure he'll do a great job.

Only because some people think one person who covers him whilst his having a bank holiday off is going to be sitting in his chair soon.

Meant to post earlier to say that I did hear Roger's last Sunday evening programme--very moving yet joyful in its own way.

Must try to get into Brian d'Arcy's programmes. Shall have to find time to Listen Again as soon as I can. Any initial thoughts from those who've heard him?

Ian.

Brian's fine, but he sounds like he's just filling in. Roger really made the programme sparkle. I particularly miss his way with words with the prayers at the end. "..Both in this world and the next" Loved that.

As I say, Brian's ok, but...

I just love Brian's voice, he sounds like such a nice man.

Can't really comment on SHH, I'm not a regular listener though I do hear the odd one or two.

You don't want to be 'finging' your feet! Not on a Sunday evening! What will the neighbours say?!

Brian has said a number of times he can never replace Roger but I'm sure he'll be great once he settles in (or 'fings' his feet! Laughing )
