Parents who give alcohol to children aged under 15 should be prosecuted, a charity has said.

It wont do anyone harm given a glass of wine once a week, but if according to the report children are drinking 2 bottles of wine a week, well what can I say ' that is the parents to blame for not controlling them and thinking of the dangers.

It's Government Problem :- Children drinking alcohol is jut one of the many symptoms.

Make producing/selling/drinking alcohol illegal in this Country. Turn the UK into a "dry" country. That's the answer.

Now, who's gonna vote for me?

This whole thing is absolute nonsense. It is not a problem in many continental European countries and I cannot see why it is considered to be a problem here. Perhaps if parents adopted a more responsible attitude to teaching their kids how to consume alcohol properly there would not be the problem that exists in many places. Banning kids from being allowed to consume very moderate amounts of alcohol in the home and supervised by responsible parents is perfectly OK. It is in my family.

Parents responsibility - it's their kids afterall and I mean who else is meant to bring them up?! Not the state - if you have kids, yes you get some child benefits, there's free education but come on people you need to put in a wee bit o' work yourself!
Grrr
Unfortunately you are right Mark - from about 13 now, young people tend to go out and get absolutely hammered each weekend, and as they get older the frequency of these drunken nights seems to increase! (until you are a student where most of them drink everyday)
Don't know if this has changed over the years - I'd say it has... I mean, was it like this when you were my age?
Hmmm

(rant over)

I do not believe it entirely. I know lots and lots of people whose kids are brought very well indeed. We usually only hear (and see) the bad ones. People are responsible for their kids whether they like or not, and we have to assume that they apply this properly, otherwise what is the alternative?
