Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton has been jailed for 45 days after being found guilty of violating her probation for a drink-driving conviction.

She said she doesn't look at what she signs. I think she is rather thick. |

"Ludicrous", her lawyer called the sentence. Pot, kettle. The law applies to everyone, even the rich and famous. I suspect most ordinary folk in similar situations get the same sentence or worse. It's always gratifying to see the high and mighty brought crashing back down to earth, if only for a short space of time.

The Paris Hilton circus is still rolling on. Now she's been sent back to jail to continue her sentence. The sheriff who released her said 'the judge is using her celebrity status and she is depressed thats why he released her. In that state she wouldn't have served her jail sentence or even had house arrest.
Anyway this will generate more money for her bank account. |

Mark,
That sheriff is a goon.
Most of the residents at that prison will be depresed and many will have real mental problems, and many will have real illnesses like diabetes, piles and cancer. Hilton is not ill, she's just a spoiled brat who does not want to live by the same rules as people with no money.

Very true. If she were poor or black (or both!) she'd have to serve her sentence. And it's not like she does anything useful when out of prison! She's just a spoiled brat and they should throw the book at her.
My personal theory is that 3 days without drink and drugs was too much for her and she went a bit mental. Ah well. |

| She now going to serve her sentence and don't want her lawyers to ask for an appeal. She says that the media should constrate on the Iraq war etc etc and she has opened her eyes. I think she's very confused and don't know what she's on about half the time. Money doesn't give you brains. |

John, did you hear the interview with the judge who decided to release her early? His reasons clearly didn't make any sense at all, unless of course he was angling for his fifteen minutes of fame.

Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton is to leave jail on Tuesday after almost three-and-a-half weeks behind bars, authorities in California have said.
The reality TV star was sentenced on 3 June to 45 days in jail for violating probation on a driving ban.
But crowded jail conditions and time off for good behaviour will mean that she is released after 24 days.
The 26-year-old was briefly freed on medical grounds earlier this month, but was sent back to jail by a court.
Before she was led screaming from court, she was told she would have to serve her full sentence.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, who ordered her release, is due to appear before the county's board of supervisors, which is investigating the issue, on Tuesday.
Mr Baca, who wanted Hilton to complete her sentence at home, said the heiress was being turned into a "criminal justice football".
But opponents say she was given preferential treatment because of her status.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department did not say at what time Hilton would be released.
She was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol last September and was given probation, which she violated several times by driving with a suspended licence.
