Hey, I'm still up for it.... and the conversation can be about anything anyone likes as far as I am concerned. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Well I'm sorry but you take nearly every thread you post in off topic and it's getting very annoying, why do you do it? |

i dont do it to annoy but most proper conversations tend to stray every now and then but they always come back even the ringo starr/monty python/ringo starr thread from the old R2MB.
as i dont want to offend i shall stay out of any thread you start and hope that meets with your approval.
i shall not annoy you anymore and shall stay at the bar if the gathering ever happens and you can avoid me at your leisure.

Take no notice, mate... I've already had this conversation with TTS about this- Threads go sideways, it happens- It's exactly why we all came on here instead of being constantly censored for going "off-topic" on the R2 boards.
If people want to adhere strictly to topics, then go back to the R2 boards! _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

wonder how many on here would like to meet up by you and see these planes fly past in the flesh. i can get to anywhere but we should find out if anyones got travel limitations etc.
lets throw some locations around and see which gets the most positive feedback.

Do I detect a hint of going off-topic in these posts?

Gearr Aonach, Glencoe - a nice easy climb....
Bowerhope Law, Moffat - just standing upright is difficult!
Trowgrain Middle, Moffat - ditto!
Okay, Seymour, maybe we should look towards a restaurant or a pub somewhere, preferably on the flat! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

It could but it might not be possible since we all seem to be scattered across all the corners of the UK |

Maybe we should have some regional get-togethers on a smaller scale to see what happens, and whether a larger meeting would work. I'm sure I could find a summer Saturday or Sunday afternoon when I'm free to visit a nice country pub in Northumberland.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I'm nowhere near London but I think it sounds the best bet. Other than that I'd say Manchester or Birmingham.

Birmingham is in the middle of the country so it would be make sense for eveyone to head there.
What about a venue-maybe we should think about somewhere central to the main railway station. |

I don't know Birmingham at all. I actually think London would be easier.

OK. I'm in Birmingham on Thursday with a couple of hours to spare in the afternoon. I'll try and pop into their reception and see if visits/tours are allowed.
There's quite a few cool bars/restaurants in the same complex (The Mailbox) which has good parking and is five minutes from New St station, so I'm just thinking it could be convenient for many.
Are any studios used for R1, R2, R3 ?

I reckon I could do Birmingham, would need a bit of prior notice, if it isn't a weekend.
