Is was suggested yesterday that we could try and have a little r2ok get together. I think this would be a nice idea but I'm not sure about logistics, we are pretty well scattered across the country.

Would anyone be up for it? if so maybe we could try and arrange for 'somewhere in the middle' to gather.

Yeah, I'll have a piece of that action. Obviously going to depend on when / where. It seems like a fun idea.

How do the TOGs manage theirs? Their membership must be just as scattered across the country, maybe the world.

Togs have one huge convention over a weekend at leciester university.

However there are many other 'bashes' that take place all over the country througout the year. They usually involve having lunch or just a drink somewhere, I have never been to any of these events so I don't know what they are like.

There is a section on the TOGs forum dedicated to arraning stuff like this and if anyone feels like doing something they post about it and people turn up.
However the membership on there is huge compared to here so chances are just about every suggestion will get some TOGs showing up.

I'm sure if we got our heads together we could write some letters to radio 2 and ask to have a look around the studios etc. We could all meet up in London as thats the more confident place for all to get to by train or coach?

I would be up for it. Very Happy

That would be cool Mark, I for one would love to look around the studios. I could come to London by train as there are several a day from Cambridge.

I dare say I could drive or fly down for the day - don't like the train though. Would also be happy to turn up for a meal or something elsewhere (preferably a little further north, to even things out - think of poor Highlander!)....

Hi Mark-I would love to join a bunch of "friends" for a look around the BBC Radio 2 studios-that would be fantastic.

I wonder how we could make this happen.

On a seperate matter would be very interested in meeting up with fellow board members for a drink/meal etc sometime-as long as it did not clash with Chelsea FC playing at home I would certainly be up for this.

Cheers.

whats weird about meeting people? i realise there are risks associated with meeting people off the net but who says you have to come alone? i'm sure no one would object to a chaperon(yours or anyone elses). plus its hard to miss someone you havent met so youre probably right on the last bit. it would be nice to meet the whole gang....oops sorry group....but not to worry

Smile

For a change, no innuendo intended as it happens.

Besides, just 'cos we're older, doesn't mean we're fogies- the body may have collapsed, but the mind is still only about 14 years old! Laughing
