there are quite a few schedule changes in the next few weeks because of djs holidays that I thought you might like to know about..Terry Wogan is back on may 28 from his curent holiday but wil be off again from june 4-8 with Johnnie Walker filling in again.Richard Allinson sits in for Ken Bruce may28-june1 and the week beginning june 4 Nikki Bedi sits in for Alex Lester while hes on holiday, and Stuart Maconie sit sin for Chris Evans the same week with Mark Radcliffe doing the 8-10 slot on his own.

Nikki Bedi Is? Works on the Asian Network

http://www.nikkibedi.com/

Richard sitting in for Ken what about his BFBS show? Stuart sitting in for Chris? Strange........ I'm sure they have cut back there standins. I would think Pete Mitchell could have covered for Ken, or is he not allowed out during daytime hours?

I seem to remember him doing Steve Wright's show once.

A rather unimaginative list of stand in's, except Nikki Bedi, who is new to me. So its official now that 8-10pm is a rest home for cover jocks when they aren't needed. We could see Radcliffe taken out of the rest home to cover for Steve Wright again later in the summer.

And there I was hoping that Aled, Dara or some other person with something interesting to say might be given a run. Instead we will just get the same lot that aren't deemed good enough to have a regular daytime slot.

Maybe Lesley is looking for another female voice for the network? It's amazing Richard is covering for Ken, when he's got a BFBS show to do? Then people moan about voice tracked or pre-recorded shows.. Laughing

Aled is good but I'm not sure about Dara, though he probaly would be ok by himself.

No, that's not the reason. It's because 'Mr. Time Check' is about as interesting as a crisp packet.

Well, hopefully she'll sound as good as she looks. Very Happy

(Mind you, PM's not offering much competition so she could be abysmal and still end up winning!)

Thankfully Dermot isn't back for KB, maybe because there is a bank holiday in the week. Maybe Nikki Bedi will be better than the regular standins, but not many will be hearing her at 3am.

Why don't we get the full time regulars like Johnnie standing in for all the regular day timers ?

It does beg the question why Stuart can suddenly be released from the double act to fill in for another presenter - seems the new pairing isn't that important? Shocked

(Unless of course his contract stipulates he has to provide cover for CE.)

Let me get this right. Maconie works Mon-Thurs on 2, Sat on 2, Sun on 6 and fills in for Evans! Jeez!

Can't see him holding Sat for much longer. I mean he's ok and that but I'd question Danny being on this much!

I can actually envisage that, although I think he's a little too light-weight to be successful. He's okay as a Bank Holiday stand-in.

It is rather strange they had to use Stuart to cover for Chris. I'm sure there are plenty of DJ's who could cover him. Pete Mitchell, Mo Dutta

I reckon Gary King would be good on Radio 2?

Good to hear Richard Allinson is back so soon on Radio 2, this time covering for Ken Bruce shortly.

Have to say this is my least favourite slot for Richard Allinson-something about this mid morning and RA does not quite work for however I'm not complaining-Richard back on any mainstream show on Radio 2 fills me with joy.

With regard to Mark O's point about Richard's daily BFBS radio 2 show I imagine RA will have the week off from them and his regular cover Richard Hutchinson will be brought in to keep the seat warm.

Anybody heard Richard Hutchinson-he certainly has a classic radio voice.

I'm not sure this is correct, the radio times website has Terry on for June 4-8 Confused Obviously someone has it wrong, seems a bit odd that he would take another week off so soon so maybe the RT is right for once Laughing

He won't be doing his evening show when he sits in on Drivetime, so his hours stay the same. Quality will always show through.
