Blimey! Shocked he seems to have had a sense of humour by-pass. Does he not realise that people like Clarkson don't necesarily intend to offend, it's just his way to blurt out off the cuff remarks like this.

There is way too much political correctness nowadays. Rolling Eyes

He was pretty humourless on Today as well talking about the Iraq war being the cause of the UK gets next to nul points on Eurovision. He forgot to mention that Ukraine had 1,600 troops in Iraq, as did Poland.

It was an article about a comment Jeremy made on top gear, he was reviewing a car and asked someone in the audience what he thought of it. The chap replied he thought it was a bit gay to which Jeremy replied yes it is a bit 'ginger beer'. Gambo found this offensive and said it was right that Clarkson got a rap over the knuckles for it Rolling Eyes
They had Matthew Parris on afterwards and he didn't agree with Gambo at all.

It seems like you can't make a joke about anything these days without somebody bleating about it.

Cheers Tog, as you can probably see, I am a fan of Top Gear and Jeremy says a lot of thinks for a laugh - look at his Jade Goody rant. We need to step back from all this PC cr*p!

I like Jeremy Clarkson and lets face it I think most people know that he sometimes says things that are slightly risque.
I also wonder what would have happened if one of the other 2 had said it, are they picking on Jeremy for just being Jeremy?

Not only a sense of humour bypass (a, once upon a time homosexuals used to glory in the underlying word (Quentin Crisp etc) and, b, you'll hear much, much worse every day and night out in the real world) but, in drawing attention to it, it will probably become something of a catchphrase, esp in schools. Everywhere, in fact, but on Top Gear.

probably - no one has a go at captain slow for saying "oh, C*ck" every now and then.

But I think Jezza is seen as "I'll say what I want and damn the rest" he is opinionated, sometimes reflective and then does a 180 degree turn on something he said but it's all harmless fun.

Are they running out of things to discuss on Vine's show do you think?

I think Jeremy Clarkson is an out and out bigot and not amusing in any way, I guess I have had a sense of hunour by-pass as well although it's not something I've been accused of before.

I didn't realise until recently Gambo was Gay. Still he does have his own opinion and Moyles has been doing this for years as he's got Aled Radio 1 producer who is gay working for him. I think known of them attend to offend the gay society, it's how it's portrade afterwards.

Missed JV today but surely nobody takes Clarkson's barbs seriously. Perpetuating the discussion simply gives him the oxygen of publicity.

But I like Gambo--how many others have the breadth of musical knowledge that he has?

Ian.

No, as it was in most of the papers about the offcom reprimand and it was the last item on the show. They also touched on Chris Moyles use of the word.

I don't think Gambo has much of a sense of humour anyway.

I like him and I admire his skills and knowledge as a broadcaster but he seems to have turned into a grump.
