At Popham airfield such weather would be described thus:
Charlie
Romeo
Alpha
Papa
Once, on a particularly grim day, that was exactly what was put on the 'Today's Weather' board!
Well, this weather saying certainly hasn't come true today in my location Rain before seven, fine before eleven It's after mid day and it still hasn't completely stopped raining!
I think this better describes this weekend Rain from the East, three days at least, though, I don't remember if there was an East wind when it started raining down here. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack.

Pouring here in Norfolk and most of yesterday....
They say it'll be like this until Friday. I was going to a big Steam event yesterday but it was washed out...
I have about 4 leaks on our building, three I don't worry about but one is a real pain in the butt. This leak only appears when the rain is from the North! the flat roof above has been renewed and a section of tiled roof too but back it comes on the rare occasion we have rain driving from the North.
Trouble is, when the roof is saturated , you've no chance of finding a little gap and when it's baking hot - you forget all about it!
I hate persistant rain....
and so do my dogs... |

A nice sunny afternoon here in Newcastle but it's a little windy. One or two small showers this morning, the rest of the week sounds as though it's going downhill from this.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Chucked it down all day. But it is a Bank Holiday after all. The local Morris Dancers were very wet. |

It was wet, wet, wet, in Lincolnshire, for our centenary camp, over 200,000 Cubs, Scouts & Explorers were camping all over UK this weekend. The kids loved it, well most of them and when we had to send most of our Cubs home a day early as very few had any dry clothes left to wear, most were not very happy. We took 14 tents down today, in the pouring rain, and then put them back up again when we got them back to the Scout hut, so they could dry. I won't tell you what the other leaders said when I suggested we have another camp, at the Scout hut, next weekend, as the tents are already up. We took them canoeing yesterday, and they thought it was fun to capsize, oh to be 10 again and not feel the cold.

Tuesday has been pretty dreary in Northumberland but has brightened up a bit this evening. But the forecast isn't great for the rest of the week. Hard lines for those on holiday.

Hope it clears up in North Norfolk next week - we're on Hols. _________________ Geddon

Yes, I was struggling to stay upright on Paper Hill, overlooking the south end of the Loch of the Lowes. Second hill of the day, gave up after climbing Bowerhope Law once the rain started in earnest this morning. Afternoon was much nicer, very warm and sunny, plus the following popped into view:
Topside on a Dominie - never seen that before!
A rather enthusiastic Tornado driver.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Cheers - I was so happy with the shots I took today, I wasn't even bothered about having to listen to Chris Evans on the way home....

It was raining so hard as I was driving down the M1 this afternoon it was like really thick fog. I almost pulled over, the visibility was so bad

Hi Cherskiy, great photos of the Dominie & Tonka, he must have been low in the Dominie. I see they have started advertising the Waddington Air Show & Open Day, won't go, just too many people there, prefer the Music In The Park at Digby these days.

That would have brought me down with too much of a bump! after such a good day. I hope the Elastoplast lady stuck a good deal of the stuff, well I think you know where I mean! What do you mean she didn't have enough!! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
