Would anyone else like to have an extra show in the daytime?
They could do this by cutting Ken Bruce and Steve Wright down to 2 hours each.
This would leave 1.30 which could be used for a new show.
I'd personally like someone to come in who had a real passion for music from the 50's to the present.
Someone who wouldn't be scared to play the Carpenters next to Pink Floyd or Matt Monro next to Led Zeppelin, a bit how Radio 2 used to be!!!

Perhaps Johnnie Walker could replace Steve Wright. That way Ken Bruce can remain unaffected.

I fear that Radio 2 is split in three.

Mornings are placid & twee.
Early evening is upbeat & life affirming.
Luchtime & afternoons are for people who enjoy ritual torture.

That would be my idea of heaven, but I bet it would never happen.

In fact Johnnie Walker from 2.00 until 7.00 would be quite nice - even though he'd be knackered come Friday! At least we would be able to listen at drivetime again.

To answer the original question "A MIGHTY YES".

There is only one man for the job-step forward Richard Allinson.

Problem solved.

Surely 2 hours per programme is long enough.
If you can't stand a show, 3 hours of it is way too long.
Maybe Steve Wrights show could just be on Monday's because it's exactly the same everyday anyway.

It doesn't matter who you'd put in as the management instructions are to keep it as safe and predictable as possible. With the current batch of managers and daytime producers, and extra show won't make any difference, sadly.

If trying to stop a once great station being turned into an identikit commercial station makes you a whinger, then I must have an honours degree in Whingeology(and proud of it)

What Jeremy Vines show would be a sort of radio one style Newsbeat show? JV show provides something different and isn't always about the news being talked about on the rolling news channels.
