Very good show delivered by Richard earlier today-really enjoyed it.

Hoping Richard is able to complete his hat trick of appearances tomorrow Friday.

Richard Allinson rocks.

No but I wouldn't mind a career change into something to do with the entertainment/radio industry.

Might as well pay him for the rest of the week. Laughing I see the music played list says Richard Allinson presents the Sarah Kennedy Show. I suppose the BBC has to blame someone. Laughing

Thanks PJ.

I have always dreamt about being a DJ/presenter since I bought my first record-someone like the great Roger Scott, Tommy Vance, Alan Freeman. Sadly these great guys are no longer with us so based on someone who is alive I think I would base my style on Richard Allinson.

You shouldn't base yourself on someone else. Always be your own person.

Me too Mark, when I was quite young listening to Tony Blackburn in the early days of Radio 1.
I thought it would be quite a nice job just playing records! Rolling Eyes

But now, I often think what a strange breed these dj's are! I mean I don't go maybe 3 or 4 days without feeling a bit sickly or maybe a headache or something but here they are day after day coming across as enthusiastic, bright and keen...
They must have off days but they don't show it do they? it's a credit to them.

particularly Stevie boy.. Wink

SantaFefan-Very good point-yes most of the time the majority of the presenters we listen to are a happy/bright/keen bunch.

However there are the exceptions-Sarah Kennedy-isn't this how this thread was started-have we come full circle.

Mark O is right. Never base your style on anybody. Let your own personality come through- it takes time but it's the best way to broadcast.
Just be yourself.

Not that I would wish ill on anyone, but I hope SK throat is taking longer to get better.

After this mornings commute, I'm considering trading in the car for a dinghy with outboard motor.

Really enjoyed the past 3 mornings with Richard on the Dawn Patrol Show sitting in for Sarah (sicknote) Kennedy.

At 9am I then tuned into Richard on BFBS Radio 2-not only was Richard NOT out of breath making the dash from Broadcasting House out to the BFBS studios out in the sticks but the normal daily BFBS shows have been brilliant as per normal.

Hope you didn't get any speeding tickets Richard driving from one location to another-if you did the extra work from Radio 2/Lesley Douglas should have paid for these.

Richard Allinson rocks.

Looking at the news & weather, it looks like your cloud factory location has been working overtime!

Why don't you read the thread about it that's been running for a few weeks?
