Radio 4's Feedback will be discussing the new Radio 2 evening schedule next week (Friday 22nd, 1.30pm & Sunday 24th, 8pm) so listen out for that. You can send your comments to feedback@bbc.co.uk

But will Lesley Douglas bother to reply...?

I very much doubt it Ian, if past episodes are anything to go by!

My question to Lesley Douglas about 'Drivetime' was asked by Roger Bolton on a previous 'Feedback' and she failed to answer, nor did she reply to my e-mails. The quote that comes to my mind about Ms Douglas is:

'Your silence betrays you.'

I did have mine discussed, but not by Lesley Douglas.

Ian-A very silly question to raise/ask.

The answer is of course she won't.

Thank you.

But they will be discussing it, so if you want to make any comments now's as good a time as any.

I'm sure the feature will make interesting listening, though - so thanks for the heads-up, Ian. I'll listen again to it next Friday evening.

Most popular subject Radio 2 is with feedback. Should forget about discussing anything else apart from the network.

No Lesley will get one of her staff to issue a press statement for the show Laughing

There's an interview with Ms Douglas in the Media Guardian today. (find it online here http://media.guardian.co.uk/mediaguardian/story/0,,2105113,00.html - registration needed) I find it quite interesting that she seems to think Radio Two hasn't what it does over the years - it's the country that has changed around Radio Two. She also says that her policy of change is "evolution not revolution", actually no love that was Jim Moir's stratagy and you nicked it but changed too much too radically.

Very interesting to see there is only about 7 presenters which hold the ship a float. Yes Chris had to change to get back on the radio.

He needs to change a lot more to grab my attention. Like having a vocal chord transplant.

No mention of it being on next week either. I loved the quote on Feedback about the BBC management handling of impartiality being as reliable as letting Dracula manage a blood bank Rolling Eyes

Enjoyable, as ever, but no mention of the R2 discussion, nor if and when it will appear. What's going on?

The window in Dame Lesley's schedule has now been closed. From the other side. Laughing

No mention of it last week either. I think it is being quietly forgotten. Wink

Dame Lesley made it in yesterday to Feedback.

She said the whole schedule re-jig was a huge mistake, she is really sorry and she is going to put it all back the way it was.

I actually believed you for about a microsecond, Ernie! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I clearly need some sleep. When I wake up, will it have all been a bad dream? Very Happy

She thinks Russell Bland is "genuinely talented and a very, very funny man" Shocked Shocked

and she likes Bruce Springsteen Laughing Laughing

No more evening listening to R2 for me then Crying or Very sad

Usual dismissal of viewers/listeners comments as per POV.

Judging by the trailers, the alternative comedians she has signed up seem about as funny as a wet weekend (with all due apologies to those in flood hit parts of the country)
Her idea of talent & mine are two very different things if she thinks Russell Brand is funny & talented, then she's also said that about the ginger whinger, hence no midweek afternoon listening for me.
About the only thing I can agree with is liking Bruce Springsteen. So do I when he's in rock mode.

The Springsteen thing is obvious - that's one reason why Radio 2 play so much Springsteen, often at the start of shows (in case she's listening).

I missed most of Feedback, but it seems typical that she would dismiss listener's comments. I love the way that she's saying Paul Jones is now promoted because he's at 7pm mondays. Bit of a kick in the teeth for Simon Mayo and Steve Harley, eh? (Both of who's shows would be better for 7pm than Jones).

As for Russell Brand - like Dermot O'Leary, if he's that good with such a fanbase why do we have the constant trailers every week? By now, the shows should be able to stand on their own.

Some promotion, moved forward by an hour! There's plenty of R2 DJ's that deserve a much better promotion, but are still 'hidden' in the overnight slots, and some who didn't deserve 'the sack' (including demoting to just holiday/sick leave fill-in status), while some recent signings on both R2 & 6 music who should be given the complete 'heave-ho', or should never have been re-signed to the beeb, indeed should resign!
