Heard this new song the other day-brilliant.

It's released on Monday 2nd July.

I bet it is a huge hit this summer.

I agree completely with Ken Bruce that the new version just doesn't have the 'oomph' of the original (UK) version from 40 years ago. Remixers, eh? Tsk!

Why doesn't it surprise me that Ken Bruce would diss this reworked song-the guy is a complete non entity as far as I am concerned. It's Ken Bruce who hasn't got any "oomph".

The song is part of a show taking place in the US just now about the life and times of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons-rumour has it Frankie is going to take it to Vegas for a long stint/run.

He didn't diss it did he Rolling Eyes he just said it lacked oomph and maybe it does but having never heard the original I couldn't comment, is Ken not allowed to express an opinion? Rolling Eyes

Ken played both versions side-by-side and there's no doubt that the 60s version is far better. Ken knows what he's talking about Smile

I prefer the original too but that won't be played at all, so hearing the remix is better than nothing as it's still a great song.
PS No offence but am I the only one who hates the phrase "dissing it", it's almost as bad as "Big yourself up"

Ken has also played the new mix alongside the 1968 cover by Timebox (a minor hit, No 38, at the time) and even that sounded better!

(I'm not a Four Seasons follower - the original was either never released as a single or missed the chart completely, and only made No 16 in the States)

Beggin' You is a great song from a great vocal band (their song 'The Night' is one of my all-time favourites), but the new recording does not do justice to the original, IMO. Ken Bruce judged his remarks pretty well in my view.

Hi Exit strategy-Likewise 'The Night' from Frankie and the boys is also one of my all time favourite songs-just fantastic.

I'm hoping that they may re-package a greatest hits album from Frankie Valli and The Four seasons on the back of their current success.

There is a special magic about this group.

Understand the show the Jersey Boys about the life and times of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons which features the song "Beggin" is coming to London in January 2008.

I am told it's a brilliant show.

I will definetly make a point of going to see it.

Exit strategy-I meant to ask you a while ago what is you view on the reworked Pilooskire edit version of your favourite Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons song The Night.

Personally I quite like-is it as good as the original I'm not sure.
