Tory leader David Cameron has said mending Britain's "broken society" is the biggest challenge facing the UK.

Citing high crime rates, drug abuse and teenage pregnancies, he said there was something "deeply wrong" and "long-term generational change" was needed.

That made me laugh when I heard he's proposing to rise tax on Alcohol. Firstly the government would get the Tax and the tax is paid into the NHS to help those who binge drink etc Laughing You will not stop people drinking like smoking whether a packet of cigs is £5 people will pay it, it's like alcohol people will still pay it. Pubs like Weatherspoons wont stop selling cheap drinks as thats where he makes his money. Beer or those pop drinks go up and down in price. What are they trying to take away your freedom too? Rollocks and double rollocks.........

Same policies they all have but worded different, I don't listen to it all anymore.

I think there's a need for some pretty tough politicians, tough policies tough sentencing and people who'll speak their minds on important issues without worrying about upsetting the pc brigade and do-gooders.
Looking at the wimpy lot we have running the country, I can't that happening for a very long time!

As for raising tax on alcohol in the hope it'll reduce binge drinking? Laughing Laughing Laughing

How can the "Conservatives Rise Tax on Alcohol"? You have to be in government to be able to do that. They're not in government.

Should that perhaps read "Conservatives plan to raise tax on alcohol if ever they were ever to form a government"?

They won't have to plan because Labour will have pinched the idea first. Very Happy
