Am off to Cheshire for a few days from tomorrow, primarily to go to Tatton Flower Show for the first ever time.

Hope to be back online sometime next weekend.

Ian.

Enjoy yourself Ian.

It's been raining all day down here today so Tatton could be a bit wet under foot.

Thanks Helen.

And here I am back!

Tatton was a superb, if tiring, day. We also managed to have a day in Chester and a trip to Speke Hall, just within Liverpool City boundary and close to John Lennon Airport.

Stayed at a B and B near the village of Tarporley, a pretty and lively place which is now by-passed by the A49 and could be missed if you're in a hurry.

Came back home on Friday and immediately went into our two evenings of open air concerts at Gibside National Trust property, on the outskirts of Gateshead.

On Friday we joined a large group at a Queen and Abba tribute band night--a very high standard and lots to dance to.

On Saturday Mrs W and I were at the annual classical pops night, with our magnificent Northern Sinfonia, presided over by bass singer-cum-regional treasure Graeme Danby.

Good to be back! Main holiday in September waiting in the wings.

Ian.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Ian. I hope you went on Thursday as it was glorious here. I watched the 2 reports on TV and it looked to be as good as usual. I might make the effort and go next year.

Thanks Helen. Actually we went on Wednesday, which was RHS members' day. We had a few sharp showers at first but it was fine after lunch. And the sun shone on Thursday when we visited Speke Hall, near John Lennon Airport, just inside the boundary of the city of Liverpool.
