The latest: Philip Lawrence's killer will be free next year. Courts have said he can't be deported, he can stay.

John-My wife mentioned this story to me tonight-she asked me "Do you think the Tories will choose to fight the next election with a manifesto pledge of tearing up/massively amending the current Human Rights Legislation.

I thought I had read somewhere that they will be doing this-I think if they do they will win many votes etc.

They might promise it. Nothing says they'll have the bottle to tackle the problem. It's a bit like Cameron pledging his support for thr NHS all of a sudden - something to do with a possible election in October? If there is, and his party loses, he'll forget about it the day after.
