..why do we always have to have the awful format of play a record then ask the listeners to text in / e-mail on trivia, eg eggy bread ?, and then make the topic last 2 hours, I despair. And now we have Aled doing similar and Davina last week. Totally dumbed down.

Is this the best R2 can manage these days ?

I haven't heard Richard Hammonds show so I can't comment on that.
Whenever I've seen Top Gear though it's always been Jeremy who raves on about Radio 2 and Richard Hammond sneers at it.
So why wasn't Jeremy asked to present a show.

He doesn't seem too happy with the E-mail address they gave him of 'hamster'! What's wrong with having an E-mail address named after a great blues-rock band?!

More wittering than even Sarah Kennedy.

Turned off after ten minutes of email & text in pleading. Unfortunately they didn't use the line "text in or the hamster gets it" Laughing

Shame they couldn't even get his homepage right 14.00-16.00, and underneath on listen again Richard Hammond presents a Good Friday show special packed with guests, games and great tunes.

Shocked

What is the point of giving him hamster@bbc.co.uk when he already has a richard.hammond@bbc.co.uk - that's the one he uses for Top Gear, and he would still be able to log into that in the Radio 2 studio because the computers are networked.
