Sir Paul McCartney and Ozzy Osbourne will DJ on BBC Radio 1 to mark the station's 40th anniversary.
The two stars are among a list of 10 who will be hosting shows and playing the music which inspired them.
The series, called Radio 1 Legends, starts on 17 September, with former Beatle Sir Paul hosting the first show.
Other artists involved include Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher, Blondie's Debbie Harry, the Arctic Monkeys, Gwen Stefani and Paul Weller.
DJ Paul Oakenfold, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and big-beat pioneer Norman Cook - better known as Fatboy Slim - are also taking part.
Tribute album
Sir Paul will play tracks from Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis to the Rolling Stones and songs from his old band.
The star said: "As I am a legend in my own street, they've very kindly asked me to do my own show, talk about people who inspired me and play my favourite records."
Radio 1 marks its 40th birthday from 17-28 September.
As part of the anniversary, current DJs from the Radio 1 roster will co-host shows with DJs from yesteryear.
On 30 September, the date of the station's first broadcast in 1967, breakfast show DJ Chris Moyles will host a show with Tony Blackburn - the first DJ to appear on the network.
The station is also due to release an album of cover versions featuring tracks by the Kaiser Chiefs, Amy Winehouse, Girls Aloud and Robbie Williams next month.
The compilation includes versions of 40 songs, one taken from each of the years that the station has been on air.

So we may have Bruno Brookes back hosting the Top 40 with the lads. Simon Bates Midmornings with Jo Whiley, Edith with Gary Davis and Steve Wright should link up with Scott Mills.  |

Paul McCartney, Noel Gallagher and Tony Blackburn will present a series of programmes on Radio 1 as part of the station's 40th birthday celebrations.
The former Beatle will host the first of 10 evening shows titled Radio 1 Legends, beginning on September 17, playing some of the tunes that inspired him and his career.
He will be followed in the slot by acts including the Arctic Monkeys, Ozzy Osbourne, Debbie Harry, Norman Cook, Gwen Stefani and Oasis guitarist and songwriter Gallagher.
Blackburn, who hosted Radio 1's first ever breakfast show, will return to the station on September 30, exactly 40 years after its first broadcast, to co-host the breakfast slot with Chris Moyles.
This kicks off a day of programmes featuring ex-Radio 1 DJs, including another former breakfast DJ, Zoe Ball, who joins Sara Cox between 1pm and 4pm, and the chart show at 4pm, to be co-presented by JK and Joel with former hosts Mark Goodier and Bruno Brooks.
Hollywood actor and John Peel fan Elijah Wood will host a tribute to the late Radio 1 DJ at 10pm, called Keeping It Peel; following a one-off edition of Annie Nightingale's request show and an hour-long Radio 1 documentary, The A-Z of Radio.
Other former Radio 1 breakfast hosts will join Vernon Kay for the Sunday morning show from 10am.
Radio 1 shares its 40th anniversary with Radio 2, Radio 3 and Radio 4. Radio 3 was previously the BBC Third programme, renamed on September 30, 1967 with the launch of the other three national stations.
Anniversary programming on the other networks include a show hosted by Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse's Smashie and Nicey on Radio 2; and a spoof This Is Your Life-style documentary fronted by Stephen Fry and Matt Lucas on Radio 4.

| Radio 1 is ...<cough> <gulp> not my cup of tea. There's some builders working a little way up our road this week, they've had Radio 1 blasting for three days now. ( Where do they think they are?) It was such a relief when they switched it off just now and I could enjoy the chug-a-chug of the cement mixer whilst laying in the sun. |
