As much as I enjoy Terry, I'm not complaining Nod!

Two weeks from next Monday. Maybe Terry is doing other things apart from putting his feet up on a beach?

This is excellent news.

It will be a real pleasure hearing JW on breakfast again-wish it was permanent gig for JW.

As the lone voice of dissent, I will be listening to KCFM for the next 2 weeks.

The only complaint I have, is that I'm at work so can't catch the whole show live - but I will be listening again Smile

Funny thing is when Terry is off I listen to JW. Is that because he gives a modern day breakfast show and get all involved, as for Wogan he only has Lynn to banter with alongside the traffic?

I cannot figure out what any of that actually means Mark.

I'm a bit bemused too. Doesn't Terry still banter with the newscasters as well. For example, the 'Janet & John' stories?

Breakfast with Walker so much better than with Wogan.

Hopefully JW is in the running as the permanent host when Wogan decides to call it a day-soon hopefully.

I doubt it. Put yourself in "Management" shoes. The day comes when your 70-ish year old star brekkie presenter calls it a day. Do you replace him with a 62 year old who's not in the best of health? One who you've already fired from drivetime? I don't think you do.

I love the way Wogan does the show, but I also really enjoy JW as a change, so I guess I'm spoilt for choice! Razz

It should be remembered what happened at the time Johnnie Walker gave up Drivetime. Most people thought that Stuart Maconie would be the natural successor as he was the most regular stand-in when Johnnie was away for any reason. Just as Johnnie was the usual stand-in for John Dunne in his absence. Johnnie did indeed succeed John Dunne, but we all know what did happen when Johnnie relinquished the show. Outrageous! Evil or Very Mad

And for those of you who don't - Johnnie was in negotiations with LD to do a Drivetime 'job share' with Stuart. When he went for a meeting with her, he was told that that was not going to happen now. No reason was given to Johnnie - he found out CE had the show from the media, same as the rest of us.

Not at all. He is a contracted to do as the controller wishes. The day we have employees telling managers when they do & dont want to work hasnt arrived just yet.

He's already said, on more than one occasion, that there's a hope is hell's chance that he'll take over breakfast when TW retires in 2 years. It's more likely to be some idiot like Evans, to be honest. In which case, I turn R2 off for good.......
