Newlywed TV and radio presenter, Jamie Theakston, is to become a father.

Theakston, 36, announced on his radio show that his new wife, Sophie Siegle, is due to give birth in April.

The couple's wedding took place near their Sussex home last weekend. Guests included DJ Chris Evans and Little Britain star David Walliams.

Theakston met 34-year-old Siegle, who manages a private members' club, at the Oscars two years ago and proposed to her in Paris earlier this year.

The former Top of the Pops presenter, who counts actress Joely Richardson and model Erin O'Connor among his former partners, revealed his impending parenthood on his Heart FM breakfast show.

'Nagging mother'

While talking about the guests at his wedding, he said: "I can tell you there was a very special guest there but I can't tell you his name because he hasn't got one.

"I can't even tell you if it was a boy or a girl because myself and my new bride won't find out until April."

He then dedicated a song to his new family, saying: "This is for my new wife and my first child."

Theakston recently said his mother had been "nagging" him to start a family since he was 19-years-old.

"She wants to be a grandmother and I hope she doesn't have to wait too long," he said.

Theakston had a brief acting career - appearing in a West End production of Art and BBC sitcom Mad About Alice.

He achieved tabloid infamy in 2001 after he was photographed in a brothel in London's Mayfair.

I don't know what's funnier - the misspelling in the header or the fact that Mark thought this was worthy of posting on here! Rolling Eyes

I tend to agree! Does our dear mark spend all of his spare hours browsing web pages from the BBC and Radio Today in order to find stuff to re-post here?
