I was interested to see today's story about Lesley Douglas accompanied by 3 HR staff travelling to the home of Leona McCambidge to sack her over the faked competitions scandal. Indeed Ms McCambridge was accused of 10 counts of gross misconduct but is set to appeal.
Ms McCambridge was the producer of Liz Kershaw's show on BBC Radio 6 music.
I wonder if more heads will roll. |

The BBC has fired a BBC 6Music producer who was working on Liz Kershaw's radio programme for alleged misconduct.
Sony Award winner Leona McCambridge was dismissed yesterday by the BBC 6Music and Radio 2 controller, Lesley Douglas.
However, Ms McCambridge plans to appeal against the decision and is being represented by her union, Bectu.
Bectu spokesman Luke Crawley said: "Leona is a sacrificial lamb and is appealing against the decision."
In July it emerged that The Liz Kershaw show on 6Music was using production staff on competitions on recorded shows. The programme was suspended.
The show was investigated after pre-recorded programmes in 2005 and 2006 were presented as if they were live.
In an incident reported to the BBC - after director general Mark Thompson appealed for whistle-blowers to come forward - a competition was announced which appeared to feature genuine listeners phoning in to take part, one of whom would win a prize on air.
In fact there were no competitions or prizes and all of the callers were actually members of the production team and their friends.
Ms McCambridge's dismissal follows a BBC-wide investigation into alleged fakery on the corporation's shows.
It is understood that details of further departures are due to emerge by the end of the week.
The BBC Trust was today given an update on BBC management's plan to restore viewers' trust in programmes.
In July, the BBC director general, Mark Thompson, disclosed six major breaches of trust around programme phone-ins that he said were "unacceptable".
The BBC said it would suspend some of the "editorial leaders" involved in the six programmes, which included Children In Need.
Among those suspended were a producer on live Saturday morning children's show TMI and Donald MacInnes, a former producer now working in the press and marketing department at BBC Scotland's Pacific Quay headquarters.
A BBC spokeswoman had not returned calls at time of publication.

Will Ms Douglas also be sacking the producers of Dermot's and Stuart's shows? |

Why Ian? What have they done? I've not read anything about them in particular.

The accusation against Kershaw's producer was that they were pre-recording shows but pretending it was still live - by reading out texts and having competitions featuring members of the public, but really it was the production team making things up.
I know for a fact that Dermot O'Leary has done the same thing on Radio 2, while Stuart has also pre-recorded shows but still read out "Dave on the M6" type messages. He may not have done competitions but how many people rang in trying to take part as usual?
They must know they were doing something slightly dodgy because that's why we've suddenly had the likes of Kate Thornton and Janice Long covering for Maconie, instead of him pre-recording. |

Yes I see what you mean Ian, I thought you were implying that they had been accused of something inparticular. Lulu also did that on the last show she did, one of the Bank Holidays I think.

They've not been accused of anything - which is why I think Kershaw's producer would have a strong case for appeal. It does look like she's been made a scape goat. |
