Well, there goes another of the old guard.
Loved Yes minister theme and of course two Ronnies, Blankety Blank and did he do the theme to Sorry? _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

He did, and Reggie Perrin, and I Didn't Know You Cared, to add to those mentioned in the news report.
Sad news, but his music will live on for many years, in the memory, and for as long as LOTSW keeps drawing its pension, and cable/satellite channels keep repeating all the other classic Beeb sitcoms of yore. _________________ Ron |

A sad day, to have brought news of the deaths of Ronnie Hazlehurst and Ned Sherrin.
Have already posted elsewhere re NS. My sympathy to Mr Hazlehurst's family.

it really is. As the years go by and familiar faces / names from my youth pass into the night the past really is a place to be treasured.
Hopefully when its my turn, I'll experience a 'life on mars'esq journey where I can relive all thats great. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

You know that you are a Radio 2 listener when you can easily remember either the people mentioned or their music.
When It is my turn, let me go quietly, listening to David Gilmour. _________________ Geddon

Ronnie Hazlehurst wrote and arranged an absolute mass of film, radio and TV "library music" which is used behind commercials, voice-overs, in titles sequences, etc. I have boxes and boxes of stuff with his name on it - much of which is recognisable from 1970s and 1980s TV programmes and short films, etc. |
