So now Lewis Hamilton is talking about walking away from the sport because of all the politics.

He hasn't minded engaging in the politics for the last three or four races, with all his wide eyed innuendos and character assassination of his team mate (deserved or otherwise). Of course, this time he is the victim of the politics and is throwing his toys out of the pram.

He's got a great future in F1 but he should let his driving do the talking and stop mixing it for others. He's old enough to know that what goes around comes around.

Looking forward to Sunday though! Smile

An F1 racing driver should know that!

Well actually, it was an F1A enquiry, following the pubication of video footage on You Tube which showed Hamilton braking and swerving apparently unnecessarily whilst following the safety car, thus causing a collision between Vettel and Webber. Webber didn't actually raise it with the FIA. Vettel claimed he was distracted by Hamilton's apparent loss of momentum (which of course is no justification for stuffing up the back of someone else, since Vettel should be aware he is involved in a participatory rather than a specator sport) so although Webber is on record as being unimpressed by Hamilton's antics, he has made it clear he never raised a formal complaint.

All in all, I think Barking Biker and others have it right. F1 is beginning to look a bitl like Hello/OK magazine. There are other opportunities for track speed which I should perhaps be pursuing.

Well done Max Mosley! You've managed to drag this sport down into a political abyss.

So long as the money keeps rolling in, eh?

I'll be catching up with a lot of old friends this weekend, and in the old days we'd religiously watch F1 every weekend. But none of us are bothered anymore.

I used to love F1 back in the glory days (James Hunt, Nigel Mansell at Williams, etc) but I just can't be arsed any more.

It ain't the same without Murray.

Good luck to Lewis, all the same!!! Britain needs its sporting heroes and he deserves the title.

I hope Hamilton wins as any Brit winning a world title is great. However, I don't think he is anything like the larger than life characters that the likes of Carl Foggerty, Barry Sheene, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt or my all time favourite, Mike Hailwoood, are.

At least as Lewis is on pole it lessens the chances of Alonso trying to shunt him.

Is F1 a sport???

When I've watched it it just seems to be a procession of prettily-painted cars Very Happy

Those cars are a lot smaller than they seem on TV too. I used to deliver stuff to Jordan Racing. 2 guys almost managed to roll (they were pushing it by hand) Heinz Harald Frentzen's car into my wagon one afternoon- lucky I spotted what they were doing... millions of quids worth of car, and they weren't paying attention! Shocked
But I was almost more surprised at how small the vehicle was.
