..so what will you be doing instead of listening to Tel's awful 'things most listeners can't buy, unless they have plenty of money to throw away' auction ? Rolling Eyes

I avoid all BBC output on CIN day. It drives me nuts.

I guess if it does raise the amount it raises and lots of target groups do benefit, then all well and good. But I just find the constant onslaught of "get your credit card out" to be really annoying. I give a reasonable amount of my time to kids groups and I think my time is just as valuable to them, so I don't want to hear people hammering me for my hard-earned cash as well.

If some would raise the tempo a little on the CIN request shows and make it sound a lot better without the same songs then it may sound better. I for one can't afford the auctions on CIN.

It's all for Charity... Very Happy

No. My quotient of listening to R2 starts dropping about 3 weeks before CIN (fed up with repeated plugs) till 3 weeks after when they've just about got it back to one mention per half-hour!

I'm not against charity donations, but I cannot help thinking that the BBC's efforts, praiseworthy though they may be, starve a lot of other more deserving charities of revenue simply because they can't compete.

One other thing; sorry if this offends others but my charity begins at home, I support BRITISH causes.

Instead of listening to the auction, go and buy a Pudsey from ASDA. They're very, very, good this year! Wink
