Niki Bedi is sitting in for Alex on overnights from december 10-14 while he takes a break. Does she have much of a future on radio 2 do you think?I think she did Alex show in june while he was in the USA didnt she? |

Yes, and the bits I heard (albeit at the end of the three hours each morning) were okay. Nothing like the Dark Lord, of course.... but okay. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I don't like her. She reminds me too much of Davina McCall: the sound of her own voice is more important than the music. |

Nikki Bedi was nothing like Davina McCall - IMHO, of course. YMMV. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I first heard Nikki Bedi on 4/6/07 while driving home from a weekend away - and I thought she was awful. Constant prattle about anything unimportant and ridiculous gags. It was like listening to a female doing a poor impersonation of Mo Dutta. |

I don't know if she has much of a future with Radio 2. It just seems to be the case nowadays that most stand-ins are already contracted for regular shows elsewhere on the BBC national stations. I assume the policy of going "in-house" is cheaper than getting outsiders (such as Richard Allinson). |

I wonder why we don't hear anything of the excellent Chris Hawkins on Radio 2 any more. In the dim & distant past he has been an excellent stand-in for Janice Long, Alex Lester & Mo Dutta. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Hawkins seems to have a few jobs so he probably can't fit anymore shows in! |

Interesting. Where else can he be heard, apart from his midweek, very long overnight show on 6 music? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
