General Secretary of the Labour Party Peter Watt has quit over controversial donation. David Abrahams gave more than £400,000 through associates, claiming he wanted to avoid publicity.

More sleaze.. Another week, another blunder. Who will be going next?

I love the way everyone comes over all naive re what is and isn't legal as soon as any awkward questions are asked.

Whatever the ins and outs of all this, I must give Labour Cabinet member Caroline Flint some credit for going on Question Time last night, surely knowing that she'd get a rough ride, keeping her head and not defending the indefensible.

I had never heard of her before last night.

I dont think all these anonomous people that Brown has in his cabinet are helping project authority. Its all very well bringing in new blood, but it would help if they at least sounded competent in their field. Alistair Darling's hands shake when he speaks. Its clearly a sign of nerves. Not what you need at a time of crisis.

One thing I say " Hopefully this will be a swift police enquiry and get back to the basics of running the country"

There should be a cap of donations, and only people who donate too these parties should only make one payment?

I think Harrett Harman will go, but there again prescott F up and still kept his Deputy leadership job. Jack Straw should be DPM, if she goes?

They dont need new laws.

All they need to do is stop breaking the existing laws. How will making new laws help achieve that?

That's the problem with Labour. THey think passing new laws in the answer to everything. Never stop to think about whether they are actually enforeceable.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7134296.stm

So it now turns out that Labour was given £183k of public money to train their staff in how to comply with the law and they still broke it.

If only we could invent a sleeze camera, for politicians, that would easily fund all the political parties, from their own pockets.
