In The Independent's "The Year in Review" they list the Radcliffe and Maconie show as one of their top 5 radio programmes. "Quite why Radio 2 had to combine the talents of these two is a bit of a mystery.....perhaps they thought it was healthier to get all their likeably sardonic Northeners over with in one go. But it's now firmly established as one of the most pleasant ways of passing mid-evenings when there's nowt on the telly."
