A case, perhaps, of clutching at anything new to break the sombre post-Christmas and New Year mood, this young lady is being touted as the next big female star and Voice of 2008.
She sounds a bit of a cross between Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone. I know Terry Wogan made some remark about a surplus of croaking ladies voices when he played it earlier this month, and I do wonder whether anyone would have taken much notice had it not been for the thrumming bassline and rhythm, but it does grow on you.
What does anyone else think? _________________ Ron |

I cannot believe her single only came out last week - it's been played relentlessly for what seems like months.
Seems the record companies have decided she's going to be a big star... and boy, don't we know it. Like Corrine Bailey Rae she'll be rammed down or throats whether we like it or not and we'll damn well buy her records (or not, as the case may be )
Thing is, I liked the single at first but I'm fed up with it now. The hype has done me in: I don't care, and don't have any desire to buy her stuff. |

Funnily enough, I haven't heard it that often - must be a lucky miss.
Even funnier, after seeing her I actually got to quite like Corinne Bailey Rae, mockney accent and all! _________________ Ron |

I can't believe you've not heard it that often - there was a week before Christmas when it seemed to be on every half an hour! |
