The weather here is absolutely vile again--about 3 inches of snow and nary a gritter in sight. I don't think I'll be going far this evening! What's it doing where you are?

Ruddy freezing! and strong winds too, but at least they're not from the East. Plenty of complaining residents as usual.
We had a helluva hailstorm/deluge yesterday around lunchtime, and I'd left my car's window open too. it all still works ok though.
I had to transport a truckload of unwanted furniture this afternoon to one of the local Trusts for distribution to the needy. I took it very carefully but was pretty glad to arrive and unload! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Well, Ian, a few miles downriver from you, there's nothing lying here at all. We had plenty of snow showers earlier today - complete whiteouts at times in central Newcastle from my sixth floor office window - but it didn't lie.
Last forecast I heard for this area mentioned hard frosts for the weekend.
Seems it's pretty bad up on the A66 over Staindrop (when isn't it?) - emergency services rescuing drivers from cars again. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

We picked our grandson up from school at Walker Gate and there was nothing lying at all, unlike here.
There have been a few flurries this morning but nothing like yesterday. The main roads aren't too bad now but roads within estates are still pretty slippery.

Round Nottingham we missed the snow, by the skin of our teeth. Two miles north east of us Thursday night's rain fell as snow and the roads were treacherous with slush the following morning. Yesterday's all fell as rain, and it has been a beautiful, clear, sunny day today. So far _________________ Ron |

Sat 2 Feb--spent part of the morning helping our elder grandson to build a snowman.
Sat 9 Feb--out for a drink and sandwich at lunchtime. Were perfectly comfortable in light clothing, sitting outside in the pub garden.
Crazy weather or what?
