Dipped into the TV coverage yesterday evening.
A big well done to Alan Shearer and Adrian Chiles for completing the 335-mile bike ride. Will AC have to present the One Show standing up on Monday?
Sincere sympathy to Hardeep Singh Kholi (spelling?) on his sacking from the Apprentice. One wonders if he needed to be humiliated quite so roundly.
I missed the terms of reference for the Top Gear meets Ground Force project but what on earth was going on? It appeared that the Top Gear team successfully trashed Sir Steve Redgrave's garden, without his knowledge but in the presence of a clearly uncomfortable Lady Redgrave. Can anyone explain this?
But congratulations for raising so much money for a miscellany of worthwhile causes.
Mrs W and I are Sport Miling at Saltwell Park, Gateshead, tomorrow.

I'm sorry but I cant see any entertainment value in these endless tv telethons. How many times are the BBC going to roll out celebrity Come Dancing & the Apprentice or get newsreaders to sing and dance?
At least Al Murray was on ITV to give us a bit of a laugh for light relief _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I don't think I would fancy cycling that far very well done to them for sticking it out. I wonder if Adrian has the day off tomorrow, surely he deserves it after that. |

Happy to say we did the mile.
Freezing cold but dry, unlike in some other places.
Leisurely pub lunch afterwards, with eldest son, daughter-in-law and younger grandson.
Nice and warm in pub!
