Bizarre session watching EastEnders last night.

First, the strange sub-plot about the male civil partnership couple was presumably designed to present an analogy to Pat and Peggy. But far too much seemed to be made of it.

Then, right at the end, we were supposedly left in suspense about what had happened to Frank, only for the end to be followed at once by a trailer for tonight's episode, which clearly showed a funeral in progress and a shot of Frank's coffin, with name and dates visible.

Whilst I don't suppose that anyone outside the remotest settlement is unaware of the death of Mike Reid, who played Frank, it does seem perverse to build up a suspenseful ending and then immediately deflate it.

Ian.

As someone currently trying very hard to avoid Doctor Who plot points I am always surprised by how much story information gets released for soaps - how can so many people enjoy it when they know what's coming?

I noticed tonight that when the horse drawn hearse pulled away, the square had Max's silver Mercedes Convertible parked there.... oh dear... Laughing

I hate it when the plot is given away. It is supposed to reflect life!!! but if we know what is going to happen, it defeats the object. Can't even avoid it when I listen to R2. Have got so fed up with these unrealistic plots that I'd rather listen to "play it again" on my pc. At least I can edit them!! Rolling Eyes
