I'm getting right fed up with all the blatant advertising of the new West End show "Jersey Boys" on Radio 2. It seems to be even more crooked than the stuff for "Wicked" (which was at least a proper stage show, not just a big-budget tribute act).

We've had a heavily-trailed documentary series, a special, a notable increase in Franki Valli records being played, rave reviews, Tracks of my Years by 2 of the Four Seasons (who both chose loads of their own records "it's a great moment in the show"), and seemingly all the station's presenters went to opening night and then went on about it for the next week.

I do wonder if money has changed hands?

The BBC had better hope Kevin Spacey's not noticed! Wink

To be honest I'm not really bothered Ian, as I like most of the Four Seasons stuff.

Wicked was a different kettle of fish though, hated that!

At least the Wicked opening night was for charity and they did stuff for Children In Need. Seems that Jersey Boys is just getting loads of advertising.

Plus I really don't like it when Tracks of my Years guests pick all their own songs - especially for the flimsy reason that it's a good scene in a musical!

I've been a fan of Frankie Valli for, ooh, years and love hearing more of their stuff on the radio. The documentary was great!

Quite agree with you - can't see what all the fuss was about. Not a patch on "We Will Rock You". Now that is a show. Very Happy

I saw 'We will Rock You' about three years back with my wife and daughter. It was a great show and I'm not even a particular fan of Queen. One thing I remember about the day was going around the Natural History Museum in the afternoon and bumping into Graham Nash. He and David Crosby were doing a show that night to promote their then new album. Rock dinosaurs still walk the Earth! Laughing
