Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can clarify the situation regarding Alex Lester for me.
I've been off most of the week, so not heard his shows- however I had the radio on just before 6 this morning and heard him saying his goodbyes etc.....
I got the impression he's moving down to London to broadcast in a different slot on R2, but he didn't say where in the schedule- just that he'd be back on Monday.
I read his blog, but that doesn't give anything away either.
If anyone could shed any light on what's going on (re: Alex's new time and who is taking over TBTOTDS) I'd be most grateful

| I think he's staying in the same slot, but broadcasting from London as no shows are coming from Birmingham anymore. |

So, are they going to sell off some of their Birmingham Mailbox Studios??
I suppose not worth me trying again to get a visit slot for us in Brum, with nothing of R2 to see  |

Apparently it's a cost cutting excerise and 16 staff have gone. Janice, Alex and Mo will have to broadcast from London as from Monday. I guess this is why Mo and Pete have split the weekend up? Mo lives in Birmingham and doesn't have to travel twice. Hotels cost too. I don't know where Janice lives, but I think Alex lives somewhere on the South Coast?
I guess this is why Simon Mayo, Bobbi P and Nick Duncarf are appearing more on Two, as they won't when it happens move to salford when Five Live is farmed out there.
Anyway there was a thread I opened early Friday in the what happening section..

Yes wrong town. It's the BBC so they could move anyway which is cheap |
