RA won't get it, and I doubt either CE or JW want it. Needs to be a high
profile radio personality who will bring a younger audience to R2 while not annoying the OAPs.

Jonathan Ross?

I know he wouldn't take it at the moment but if Wogan hangs about for another five years, perhaps Ross' career will have gone into decline and then he might take the gig?

Might I suggest Neil Fox from Magic 1054 who
is amongst the most popular breakfast show presenters in the London area and who has just won a prestigious commercial radio award or
alternatively Simon Bates a previous R2 man but has successfully crossed
the divide to R1 and then Classic FM. With the Clasic FM group in the midst of a takeover perhaps he might be tempted ?

Simon Bates? Oh no! He's one of the presenters who's ruined Classic FM but he's fairly well bedded in there so I doubt he'll leave. Neil Fox seems to commercially-minded for the BBC.

It's a tough choice though. I would guess Simon Mayo or Chris Evans will get first refusal.
