It has to be a very close run thing, I can hardly get a fag paper between DLt, Ray Moore, John Dunn, Fluff, Johnnie Walker and RA. But it has to be DLT for all the enjoyment and exceptional new music he introduced me to in the 80's on my "Walkman" while hill walking in the Peak District. I can remember hearing Marc Cohn for the first time & stopping to just sit & listen to "Silver Thunderbird" & "Walking In Memphis". Later, I could never understand why Cher's cover achieved so much air time when it was really just a "copycat" of the original. So DLT on Saturday afternoon & Sunday morning were the highlights of my R2 week, along with the stunning views, made me ignore the rain running down my neck when miles from anywhere.

The only one among that list I don't remember too much about was Ray Moore. All the others I'll certainly go along with. Of my weekend DLT memories, I can remember the quiz games. It was 'Darts' one day (Nemone has something similar going now on 6 music) and I think a snooker one the other day. If my memory serves me correctly the darts game was between two pubs and one day one of the pubs competing was one not too far from me, though not my 'local', it was one I used to visit occasionally. Can anyone else remember his erstwhile R1 colleague Noel Edmunds doing a 'Gotcha' on him on one of these quizes on his (Noel's) Saturday evening TV show. DLT did not seem very amused at all at the time. I wonder if they are on speaking terms yet?

Yes it was on Noel's House Party, there were more DJ's involved, I think, it was a long time ago & I do believe it was a pay back for a wind up DLT did on Noel Edmunds & it did take DLT a few "seconds" to see the funny side! Laughing

I too am sure that DLT was sacked from radio 1 and went straight to ILR.
