This show is full of some great music and a must listen. I best describe the show as an interesting overnight informative radio production and has some great guests.

Pete should be given a show during the week and more cover work like Ken Bruce show when he's on Holiday?

I have to disagree with both of these quoted posts. Pete Mitchell I think is one of the better presenters brought to the network by Lesley Douglas. I would much rather listen to Pete Mitchell than Russell Brand.

I'll agree with that Fred. Mark Radcliffe & Pete Mitchell are two of the few Douglas signings that don't make me rush to turn the radio either over or off.

He doesn't necessarily make me switch off immediately but I wouldn't rush to turn it on to listen to him, um, either. Having said that, he's miles better than Brand, but there's no real contest, is there?

I don't understand why peoplw knock Pete Mitchell, either. Unlike the vast majority of LD's signings, Pete actually has a geat musical knowledge. He's also a fantastic interviewer, too.

I'm not sure that I can agree with either of those statements.

Few weeks ago he interviewed some crank on the phone from California who maintained that the tune of The Beatles' If I Needed Someone had plagiarised Roger McGuinn and the Byrds' Bells of Rhymney. No mention, by either of them, that that it wasn't the Byrds' in the first place, but Pete Seeger's, based on a traditional tune.

Going futher back I remember an interview with the organiser of the National Haggis Championship in Scotland. Can't stand the stuff myself, and it was clear that PM was pretty ambivalent about it as well.

I always enjoyed Pete Mitchell's Razor Cuts when he used to be on Virgin Radio. I am surprised that he's not been given a similar show on Radio 2.

Other fine interviewers on Radio 2 include Johnnie Walker, Michael Ball, Elaine Paige, Russell Davies and, surprsingly, Steve Wright.
