It was absolutely fantastic can't wait to 'watch' it via the red button after 10 tonight! It was great to hear so many of his greatest hits rather than just those from his latest album.

Ironic for me that it was Johnnie introducing it, as 'Cracklin' Rosie' was the first Neil Diamond song I really liked and can remember Johnnie playing it a lot on his Radio 1 morning show between 9-10 weekday mornings.

Can imagine the atmosphere in the theatre as I was there earlier in the year, it only holds about 200 so it's like having your own private show.

Will listen again during the week.

For the last few weeks I've had barely any choice but to listen to Neil Diamond on Radio 2 - they've been playing at least 1 song of his every hour!

They weren't the ones he sang tonight though Ian, loads of his well known ones.

You could apply via the R2 web page ( it was a few weeks back ) and then they must do a computerised ballot and you get a phone call saying you have got tickets.

There were 50 pairs I think when I applied for Simply Red. I thought about applying for these but it was midweek so not so easy to get to London. I've applied for others but never been successful.

I think this CD sounds better than that last one 12 Songs(?).

All the information was given out several times when Simon Mayo stood in for Ken Bruce. There was a number to call and leave details, and then a ballot was made.

The BBC Radio Theatre only holds about 300 people, which is more than enough space for most shows recorded there.

When I was there I'd say the first 3 or 4 rows were BBC/media guests.

We were about 6 rows back.

I agree. I thought 12 songs weak. The new one is very much better
