Congratulations to Bono.
I for one have never liked U2 and never paid much attention to Bono's humanitarian contributions.
I probably won't read a Sunday paper about this so can anyone tell me what are the main justifications for 'Sir' Bono?

Hmm interesting I suppose he does do a lot for charity and particularly he highlights 3rd world debt. I guess if geldof has one there's no reason why Bono shouldn't have one too.
He won't be able to call himself Sir if it's honarary though as he's Irish.
I can take or leave U2, I have a couple of their albums but wouldn't say I was a fan |

I am a big U2 fan, but I don't believe Bono should become a 'sir'. _________________ SEX IS NOT THE ANSWER!

I don't think he can call himself 'Sir' in an official capacity being only an honorary knight. However Terry Wogan is also an honorary knight but is still regularly referred to as 'Sir Terry', not least by some of his R2 colleagues. |

Terry has dual citizenship which means he is allowed to use the title. |

I think Geldof could probably get dual citzenship at this stage if he wanted it as he has lived in London for probably 20 years now. Terry only took his dual citzenship recently so that the missus could be called Lady Helen. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

But is more usually referred to as 'The present' (or is it 'current'?) Mrs Wogan! |
