The Government reports it will create 40 so-called "respect zones" across Britain in an effort to tackle anti-social behaviour in society.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wonder how they are going to get people to respect others when do the government really respect us? This country is falling apart if it hasn't already. I hope this is so called " Respect Zones" are also used for the ethnic communities too? This country is falling apart if it hasn't already.

Sounds as though it'll be about as much good as the 'Nuclear-Free Zones' the loony left councils set up in the 1980s, as if proclaiming such things would stop SS-20s falling on them.... Rolling Eyes

The yobs must be laughing at all the attention they are getting - didn't the same reports suggest that £Ms would be given to these areas? The moral of the story seems to be, therefore, to create bother in your local area if you want it to be re-developed.

The same happened in Meadowell, a rather rough part of North Shields some years ago. The local yobs and ne'er-do-wells decided to have a riot one night, generally causing mayhem and setting fire to houses, shops and other local buildings. Result? Money thrown at the estate, houses smartened up and refurbished, etc. Problem? Same yobs still live there.

As I said, they must be laughing....
