Great saying "they are going to put a hold on our Council Tax for Two years, if they get in. Only if the local councils don't want extra money for their services, so we will let that one go over our heads. Now they are making out to be the cleaners behind the Labour party ready to sweep up. I would expect if the blues were in Browns position they would be in dire straits. Money For Nothing there. |

I think a lot of people will vote for the Tories if Council Tax is frozen for a couple of years.
My wife pays our council tax bills-nearly 2.5k a year and this was the first thing she mentioned to me as I came through the front door tonight.
The second thing she mentioned was "Richard Allinson is absolutely .... but this is for another thread. |

Sorry Mark, They may say that they will freeze council tax in one hand then George Osborne stands up and says' at the party conference, "Gordon Brown there is no more money in the pot". So if there is no more money in the pot how on earth will the Tories freeze CT... and Local Councils survive on a low budget when they struggle now? God do we want a Tory government? NO!!! |

Have noticed that both Tory and Labour politicians have been using party conference platforms to issue sundry bribes to the electorate.
Shall we charitably assume that all these proposals have been fully costed to ensure that they are affordable?
Pigs might fly?

If they cut spending it is achievable. The public sector has become hugely bloated over the last 10 years. Its ripe for a cull of the time wasters. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Mark, the Tories are like a mother to this nation – like all good mums- they know what is best.
The current crisis is wholly the doing of Mr Blair and Mr Brown- the New Labour – New Britain dream was bought on a deferred payment HP agreement – you were all sold a pig in a poke. As soon as the payments were due they raided your pension funds to prop up their false promises, then they raised taxes to the point of riot to keep the lie alive as long as possible. After they sucked dry the juicy fruit they’d inherited from the Tories – Mr Blair – like the super-villain in all James Bond movies escaped leaving his trusty gormless sidekick to carry the can- just as the entire organisation collapses.
The world is about to change. The next ten years will see a return to what some would call the “olden days”. The divide between rich and poor will grow ever wider. Initially crime will rise as a result but justice will be tempered, soon becoming a swift and unforgiving regime. Our country won’t have an immigration problem – it will have an emigration problem as the wealthy pack up their bowling bags and haul ass. There'll be a massive return to religion. Weighted down by European regulation our industries will struggle to survive, unemployment will be rife; children and the elderly will starve. Power blackouts lasting days will be commonplace, schools and hospitals will close. Private transport- cars and air travel will be abolished as all available Oil and Gas is diverted to keep power stations on line.
However, we will emerge from the dark times as a very much stronger, independent and more civilised nation.
Mr Blair will be remembered of course– but not for being the greatest Labour Leader of all time but for being the Leader who was so self obsessed with his own popularity he sold his own country and his countrymen down the river to raise cash for his own selfish vanity. |

The Tories wont be able to take over the economy and try to hoover up the mess Labour Party has left it. If Labour have no money then the Tories will have no money? It is a bribe and people can see through them.
Oh remember David Cameron is going work with Gordon Brown. Only letting George Osborne back stab the Labour party in the meantime, and trying to write blank cheques. |
